The 17th annual Washington Jewish Music Festival will begin with “Shabbat in Song” at various locations through out D.C., Maryland and Virginia on Friday, June 3.

The festival works to promote an appreciation for Jewish culture and to unite the region through music, performing artists, educational programming and free events.

Highlights include Yemen Blues at the Edlavitch JCC (1529 16th St., N.W.) on Saturday, June 4 at 8 p.m.; various performers in Stead Park (1625 P St., N.W.) from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 5; Zion80 at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center (7995 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, Md.) on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m.; and Community Evening of Education on Arab Citizens of Israel featuring Artolerance at the Edlavitch JCC on Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. – See more at: http://www.washingtonblade.com/2016/05/26/washington-jewish-music-festival-starts-june-3/#sthash.I2lNTNTp.dpuf
